About Cal Rep

California Repertory Company (Cal Rep) is a professionally-modeled graduate training program and theatrical laboratory whose primary mission is to train theatre artists and teachers.

The company works in partnership with California State University, Long Beach. Actors, designers, technicians, and arts managers who comprise the company are candidates for the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree.

Since its inaugural season in 1989, Cal Rep has produced many American and world premieres, and has hosted renowned guest artists from Australia, Czechoslovakia, England, Germany, Scotland, Wales, and the former Soviet Union. Newsweek, USA Today, and American Theatre have all applauded Cal Rep's international scope and artistic achievement.
